Captain Blackbeard vs Kraken Colorized 5 oz Copper Medal

The Captain Blackbeard vs Kraken Colorized 5 oz Copper Medal brings together two legendary figures of maritime lore in a dramatic oversized collectible. Struck from 5 oz of copper, the medal depicts the infamous pirate Blackbeard facing a monstrous Kraken in a vivid colorized scene designed to emphasize the scale and danger of the encounter.

Blackbeard, whose real name was Edward Teach or Thatch, became one of the most notorious pirates of the early 18th century. He operated along the Atlantic coast of North America and the Caribbean during the Golden Age of Piracy and became famous for his fearsome appearance, heavily armed crew, and flagship Queen Anne's Revenge. His reputation grew far beyond his actual career and helped make him one of the most enduring figures in pirate history.

The Kraken comes from centuries-old Scandinavian maritime folklore, where it was described as an enormous sea creature capable of threatening ships and sailors. Pairing Blackbeard with the legendary monster creates a fantasy battle that blends genuine pirate history with classic sea mythology.

The substantial 5 oz format gives the artwork far more visual impact than a conventional 1 oz round and makes the piece especially well suited for display. Its combination of pirates, maritime mythology, colorized artwork, and large-format copper gives it broad crossover appeal for collectors of nautical history, fantasy, and unusual metal art.
